He works as a director, cinematographer & editor. Based in Mumbai.  

His passion towards cinematography started from a very young age when his father gifted him a Kodak film camera when he was just 7-year-old. From then started his curiosity and passion towards clicking photographs of whatever he sees around him. Grew up along with this passion, he was quite sure about what he wanted to pursue and do in life. As he grew older, his love for still images has evolved into moving images and then into cinema. Ashwin is a self-taught film maker, he observed every aspect of cinema by watching films and learned the techniques online and by experimenting on his own, be it with a cellphone camera and few cheap torch lights. 

He has directed and shot documentaries, short film, feature film and corporate films. His first ever documentary project Serve with love has been awarded at Kurzi film festival, Germany. Also, his first fictional project which was a Malayalam short film called Paikin Jina Chiri where he worked as a cinematographer also acclaimed a lot of attention on its technical brilliance with such low budget at various film festivals in India, the film bagged an award at Pk rosy film festival. He also handled camera for the Arabic feature film B82 which won an award at Al Ain film festival 2022.

It opened him a gate to UAE film industry, and he did second unit cinematography for commercial block buster movie Khalek Shanab 2
