Do I have to wear a cosplay?
Attendees do not have to wear a cosplay to attend MEFCC. Attendees are free to wear anything they want if it respects the laws and cultural values of the U.A.E.
What is the age limit for the cosplay competition?
In order to register for the Cosplay Competition (Best Craftsmanship, Best Performance Onstage and World Cosplay Summit Preliminaries), you should be older than 12 years. For 12-year-olds and younger, you can register for the Kids Cosplay Category.
How do I register for the cosplay competition?
You can register for cosplay competition by heading to our Cosplay Competition Registration page: https://www.mefcc.com/home/cosplay-competition/ and filling out the form for the category that you prefer and qualify for.
I haven’t participated in a Cosplay Competition before, which category should I register for?
There are 4 categories that you can register for, and this will all depend on what kind of a cosplayer you are:
- Kids Cosplay: If you’re 12 years old or below and want to take your first steps into the world of cosplay.
- Best Performance Onstage: If you’re a Cosplay beginner and would like to test your acting, dances or character mimicry without too much effort.
- Best Craftsmanship: If you’ve got a grasp on both performance and crafting and build a mean armor or sew a beautiful dress, where you can showcase it to a panel of judges and get their feedback on how to progress, while possibly winning some cash on the side.
- World Cosplay Summit Preliminaries – Team UAE: If you’re a professional cosplayer and want to represent the UAE alongside a Pro-Cosplay buddy, where you can fly to Japan and compete in the WCS Championship Finals, should you qualify.
